Edinburgh East Wild Weekend Route

Route Overview: Starting in Brodick on the Isle of Arran and finishing on Mull, with multiple island hops in between and an excursion to Ardnamurchan point in the far west. A salty, sandy (+/- damp?) coastal experience, with plenty of up & down and of course, VIEWS! The rolling route cuts out some off-road climbing, but varies little from the main route. The optional rugged+ section is tough but glorious, inland from Oban to Glencoe. Tarbert, Tayvallich, Oban and Tobermory lie in between.

  1. Ride stats: 471 miles & 32,000 feet
  2. Off-road: 33% off-road on forestry tracks, estate tracks & cycle paths
  3. Ferry start: Caledonian Macbrayne Ardrossan to Brodick
  4. Trains end: Scotrail service into Oban with a dedicated bike carriage
  5. Buses end: Ember buses take bikes, various services into Oban
