Far North Rally route
Route Overview:
Route stats: 750km, 9200m, 40% off-road.
Although this route is 60% on road, it’s remote and exposed. Yet, some of the gravel sections, like between Ullapool and Evanton, are about as special as it gets. In good weather, the expanses of Sutherland’s moors, mountains and coast are breathtakingly spacious. In bad weather it can be bleak and forbidding. There are some long distances between shelter and shops, so planning is essential. We largely avoid the unpleasant NC500 roads, favouring the quiet inland roads and tracks instead. There’s an optional section to Cape Wrath to reach for the rewards of the most north-westerly extremity of the country.
